Advent Nook — Terms of Service

Welcome to Advent Nook ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of adventnook.com, our Shopify storefront, and any related services (collectively, the "Services"). By browsing, creating an account, placing an order, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Overview

Advent Nook sells Advent calendars and related holiday products online. Our store is powered by Shopify. Some products ship from US warehouses; others ship from China and are labeled accordingly on product pages and policies. Shipping estimates are not guarantees.

2. Online store terms

By agreeing to these Terms, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence, or that you are the age of majority and have given us consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use the Services.

You may not use our products or Services for any illegal or unauthorized purpose, nor may you violate any laws in your jurisdiction (including copyright laws). A breach of any of the Terms may result in immediate termination of your access to the Services.

3. Products and accuracy

We make every effort to display product colors, images, and descriptions accurately. We do not warrant that product descriptions, pricing, availability, or other content is error-free, complete, or current. We reserve the right to correct errors, refuse or cancel orders, and limit quantities at our discretion. Fill-your-own Advent calendars ship empty of chocolates or treats unless a listing expressly says otherwise.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in the currency indicated on the storefront and may change without notice. Payment is processed securely through Shopify and its payment partners. You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information.

5. Shipping and delivery

Shipping windows vary by warehouse and product. US-warehouse items eligible for December 1 delivery are identified on collection and product pages (see "Ships for Dec 1"). China-direct items carry separate order-by dates (typically mid/late October) and are not promised for December 1. Delivery dates are estimates. Risk of loss passes according to the carrier and fulfillment model for each order. See our Shipping policy for details.

6. Returns and refunds

Returns and refunds are governed by our Refund policy. Damaged or defective items should be reported promptly with photos. Change-of-mind returns may not be available on certain dropshipped items once fulfilled.

7. Optional tools and third parties

We may provide access to third-party tools or links. We do not monitor or control those tools and provide access "as is" without warranties. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

8. User comments and content

If you post reviews, comments, or other content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display that content in connection with the Services. You agree not to post unlawful, abusive, or infringing content. We may remove content at our discretion.

9. Personal information

Your submission of personal information is governed by our Privacy policy.

10. Prohibited uses

You may not use the Services to: (a) harass, abuse, or harm others; (b) submit false or misleading information; (c) upload malware or interfere with the Services; (d) collect or track personal information of others without consent; (e) spam, phish, or scrape the store in violation of applicable law; or (f) circumvent security or access controls.

11. Disclaimer of warranties; limitation of liability

The Services and all products are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. In no case shall Advent Nook, our directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, contractors, suppliers, or service providers be liable for any injury, loss, claim, or any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages of any kind arising from your use of the Services or any products purchased, including lost profits or data, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Advent Nook and our affiliates, partners, officers, directors, agents, contractors, and employees from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your breach of these Terms or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforceable to the maximum extent permitted, and the unenforceable portion shall be deemed severed. The remaining Terms continue in full force.

14. Termination

These Terms are effective unless and until terminated by you or us. You may terminate by stopping use of the Services. We may terminate or suspend access immediately if you fail to comply with these Terms.

15. Entire agreement and changes

These Terms, together with our Privacy, Shipping, and Refund policies, constitute the entire agreement between you and Advent Nook regarding the Services. We may update these Terms at any time by posting a revised version on this page. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

16. Governing law

These Terms and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state in which Advent Nook primarily operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protections in your jurisdiction apply.
